We have begun to move the 5th largest bank in America towards a clean energy future, and our nonviolent direct action has been the source of much of our strength and success. To complement and deepen the impact of our Witness, we launched the Green Your Money initiative last Wednesday with a 90-day deadline: PNC has until June 1st to prohibit financing for mountaintop removal, or we will begin to close our PNC accounts and move our money elsewhere. As the clock counts down, we will be spending the next 90 days collecting Green Your Money pledges and building a broad, state-wide network of conscientious consumers to grow the strength of this initiative.

The flagship event of our Green Your Money initiative is the Green Walk for Jobs and Justice, a 16 day, 200 mile walk across the State of Pennsylvania, leaving from Philadelphia on April 30th and arriving at PNC’s National Headquarters in Pittsburgh on May 15th – we are Lead to demonstrate our faith and our capacity for love, to show the measure of our determination, and to Shine the Light from one side of the state to the other.
8 EQAT walkers will make the journey together, on foot, supported by our organization, and we are inviting all Friends and allies to walk alongside them any part of their journey. As we go, we will be holding nonviolent direct actions at PNC Bank branches in populated towns along the route, and sharing hospitality with Quaker Meetings and sympathetic Congregations. We are going regional! - meeting new Friends, collecting Green Your Money Pledges, building our movement all along the way until we arrive for an action at PNC Headquarters!
